My name is Janelle Butler and I have been teaching for over 30 years. My association with the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy began 25 years ago. I became principal of the Sydney North Western suburbs in 2001. And then Sydney North Shore in 2017. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Education- Drama and English and a Diploma of Teaching. I have directed many plays such as Treasure Island, Boots An All, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. I have a strong passion for the Performing Arts and it is so rewarding to see so many children that attend our classes develop skills in confidence, self- esteem, speech, creativity and acting. The classes and programme that we offer to all children are inclusive, creative and fun.
Our programme covers scripts, musical theatre, mime, play building, improvisations, mini plays, speech, theatre games, script writing, monologues and all the skills acquired through these activities are put into a short production in term four.
Hannah has been teaching at Helen O’Grady since 2012. After graduating with her Bachelor of Performing Arts-Theatre Performance in 2005. Following her passion of performing, she continued her studies at the Actors Pulse where she completed her training in the Meisner Technique. Hannah is also a mother of 2- Jonathan and Sophie. Hannah’s favourite thing about teaching is watching her students grow in their confidence and self esteem whilst having fun using their imagination.
